appearance
The Preacher's appearance is ever-changing. His biggest giveaway is the neck tattoo that resides on the right side of his collar, barely ever hidden from the view others.
He stands at about 6'2, with a slim but enticing figure, blue eyes that could be mistaken for a pool of crystal clear water and slicked back, jet black hair.
Despite having keen eyesight, The Preacher lacks the ability to hear, deafened due to an accident that occurred during his childhood. This explains the hearing aids he carries with him.

background

child life
For as long as he could remember, The Preacher was raised by a former pastor turned mortician. He was educated in both religion and the human body, as well as its in and outs. His interest soon shifted to morbid curiosity, experimenting with stray cats and dogs he managed to get his hands on. The pastor took note of the obvious mental problems but neglected to report it, fearing he may lose the boy he loved like a son. His decision was bound to backfire though, the boy turning the scalpel to his surrogate father in his sleep, killing him and mutilating the old man's body.
His teenage years were spent on the run from the law, having committed a string of murders across the country. With each new state came a new nickname, and the thrill of the running from the law was exhilarating. It wasn't until he reached Oregon that he took on the nickname "The Preacher" after posing as a holy man that went door to door.

early adulthood
The Preacher, now better known as Atticus Barnes by the FBI, had been on the run for nearly a decade and amassed quite a list of both confirmed and unconfirmed victims. Despite his heinous acts, he'd also amassed more than a few dozen followers, a fan club of sorts.
His methods of killing remained the same, leaving his victims the way a mortician would a dead body, though he'd become far more elusive and harder to track. What was once certainties now became doubts and speculations in the minds of officials who took on the investigation against him, losing grasp of what little lead they had.
The murderer still remains at large.
